This is a WR340 Waveguide Switch that is used to switch an input waveguide to either the A or B output port, these waveguide switches are typically used in satellite and microwave communications to switch high power RF equipment safely. The WR340 Waveguide Switch can be supplied in a range of configurations allowing it to be integrated with any existing waveguide redundancy or switching system. These waveguide switches can be controlled in a manual physical manner or electrically in an automatic system with control logic.
Waveguide RF switches are electromagnetic switches with hollow rectangular cross-sections and are used for routing RF energy. Waveguide switches can be used to transfer both power and communication signals, and the bandwidth of a waveguide is in relation to its size, and thus always referred to by its size (e.g. WR112, WR90, WR75 etc.). Compared to coaxial RF switches, waveguides can route extremely high power signals over a narrow bandwidth at low to high frequencies, and now Lightweight Waveguide series is available.
We offer an additional test & calibration service whereby our technical team can provide sweep testing of cables and waveguide to measure and document specific performance data for each assembly. We also recommend all cable and waveguide assemblies are temperature cycled; this normalises any dielectric and gasket seating ensuring optimum performance and overall stability of the assembly.
Av-Comm’s technical team is available to provide advice and consulting on appropriate coaxial, waveguide, and optical assemblies for site specific and project specific applications. Contact our team today to discuss your requirement.
