The Comtech CRS-500 1:N Modem Redundancy System utilises IF Switch Units (ISUs) to switch the RF baseband at either IF (70/140MHz) or L Band (950-1950MHz) to ensure seamless connection between the up/down RF chains and a Comtech modem in the event of a failure.
The Comtech CRS-280 is an IF (70/140MHz) switch and the Comtech CRS-280L is an L Band switch. The ISUs are intended for satellite earth stations where traffic modems use different transponders within the same redundancy system. Note: The L-Band TX model does not pass DC power to BUC.
The Comtech CRS-280 Series Redundancy IF or L Band Switch consists of the following components:
| Flexible 1:10 (max.) configuration |
