The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee can be used to power BUCs or LNBs and is supplied with N Type Connectors.
The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee can be used to power BUCs or LNBs and is supplied with N Type Connectors. The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee includes a feature that automatically detects the presence of a 10MHz reference coming from the modem or another device on the input of the Bias Tee and if one if not sences it will output a 10MHz reference. The presence of the 10MHz reference is typically used to signal the BUC to switch to the RF ON state. The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee is ideal for use in systems where the modem or modulator is unable to provide the 10MHz reference source.
The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee is designed to be used outdoor (or indoors) as it is provided in a weatherproof form factor. The Amkom High Stability 10MHz Reference & Bias Tee does not include the AC/DC power supply which must be chosen with the BUC it will be used with in mind to ensure it is cable of providing enough electrical power.
A Bias Tee allows DC power to be diplexed with an RF signal and fed up a coaxial feed line to a device that can accept power via coaxial input. In the satellite communication industry, a Bias Tee is typically used to power a Block Up Converter (BUC). A critical element of a Bias Tees design is to ensure that DC power is sent in a specific direction to protect the modem or modulator connected in the reverse direction of where the DC power is being drawn.
