Australia is strongly positioned to play a leading role in the global space industry, particularly in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Earth Observation (EO). These capabilities are critical for national security, environmental monitoring, and economic
growth. As global reliance on space-based systems increases, so too does the need for Australia to safeguard its own interests through sovereign capability. Investment in our domestic industry to ensure our ability to monitor, understand, and respond to developments in space and on Earth without depending entirely on foreign partners. The Australian Government has already taken steps in the right direction, but a greater commitment to local industry is essential. Building resilience means investing not only through international primes, but in Australian-led solutions that keep skills, intellectual property, and economic benefit at home.
