A reliable, secure telecommunications solution for Bred Bank, Honiara

With the establishment of the Solomon Islands’s newest financial institution the Vanuatuan Bred Bank, Av-Comm was approached to develop a reliable and secure telecommunications solution to connect the Solomon Islands branch to the core in Vanuatu.

Initially, Bred Bank were facing reliability issues related to their existing Ka-band link’s susceptibility to degradation during rainfall, causing serious issues for business operations on a daily business.

Av-Comm was approached to assist with overcoming the reliability issues Bred Bank were facing as a result of their Ka-band satellite link. Av-Comm’s specialist knowledge of the Pacific Islands environmental challenges and our rich experience with satellite networks meant we were able to match the best solution for our client’s technical and cost requirements. Av-Comm proposed a C-band system based on Bred Bank’s critical requirements of a resilient, secure, and cost-effective satellite communications solution that remains stable during even the heaviest tropical rain downfall.

Av-Comm worked as the systems integrator and field engineering services team for Bred Bank to install and commission our inclined orbit C-band tracking system solution that went live in December 2017. Av-Comm’s link has been an effective and reliable solution for the Bank and overcomes their environmental constraints and critical system needs to ensure successful business operations.

Av-Comm is proud to be supporting Bred Bank and their new offices in the Pacific as it offers more competition in the banking sector and access to a wider range of products for all Solomon Islanders, and we look forward to seeing their business operations grow further.
