Av-Comm featuring in Australia’s industry delegation to Europe’s 2022 International Astronautical Congress

16 August 2022

Av-Comm Space and Defence has been selected to join Australia’s official Austrade industry delegation at the world’s premier global space event — the International Astronautical Congress — in Paris next month.

Being held from 18 to 22 September, the IAC attracts more than 6,500 participants from over 80 countries. Av-Comm Managing Director Michael Cratt said, “We are delighted to have been selected and look forward to showcasing Australia’s manufacturing and sustainment capabilities in the space sector at IAC22.”

“Australia’s geography and climate is perfectly suited to space missions, earth observation and satcoms, and attending IAC22 will give us the chance to let the world know that.”

While at IAC, Av-Comm will be presenting the locally manufactured Cassowary satellite ground station tracking antenna system.

“We’re proud to have created this sovereign capability – with support from more than 20 Australian SMEs in our supply chain — which delivers multi-band, multi-mode flexibility and ensures 100% of the satellite’s pass is used to maximise data acquisition,” Mr Cratt said.
