Bias Tee Diplexer DC and RF to BUC

Description

A Bias Tee allows DC power to be diplexer with an RF signal and fed up a coaxial feed line to a device that can accept power via coaxial input. In the satellite communication industry a Bias Tee is typically used to power a Block Up Converter (BUC). A critical element of a Bias Tees design is to ensure that DC power is sent in a specific direction to protect the modem or modulator connected in the reverse direction of where the DC power is being drawn.

A Bias Tee is a simple and economical method of providing power to a BUC because it can be installed indoors and the DC power fed over the length of the coaxial cable to the BUC. Our X1601 Bias Tee can pass up to 6 amps of current allowing most BUCs under 20 Watts to be powered. Our X1601 Bias Tee allows a DC input connection via standard banana sockets with N type 50 ohm female RF connections available.
