The Amkom Outdoor BIAS Tee can be used to power BUCs or LNBs and is supplied with N Type Connectors and is specifically to provide inline power to the Amkom range of BUCs. The Amkom OutdoorBIAS Tee for BUCs is designed to be used outdoor (or indoors) as it is provided in a weatherproof form factor. The Amkom Indoor BIAS Tee for BUCs does not include the AC/DC power supply which must be chosen with the BUC it will be used with in mind to ensure it is cable of providing enough electrical power.
A Bias Tee allows DC power to be diplexed with an RF signal and fed up a coaxial feed line to a device that can accept power via coaxial input. In the satellite communication industry a Bias Tee is typically used to power a Block Up Converter (BUC). A critical element of a Bias Tees design is to ensure that DC power is sent in a specific direction to protect the modem or modulator connected in the reverse direction of where the DC power is being drawn.
Amkom’s Design Group Inc. was established in 2016 and is based in California USA with market focus on SATCOM and VSAT markets. Amkom’s BUC and SSPA designs include the best technical elements of both GaN and GaAs architectures to deliver mature, reliable, and efficient BUCs and SSPA/Bs with added internal overdrive protection. Amkom’s products are achieving world class results with exceptional stability, reliability, linearity and efficiency.
